April 2020 recognized as "Workplace Violence Prevention Month" in S.C.

The Resolution, known as H. 4904, was introduced by Representative Wendell G. Gilliard on January 15, and has been approved by the S.C. House of Representatives.According to Representative Gilliard, the resolution aims to raise awareness of workplace violence in the healthcare employment sector and to encourage healthcare employers along with law enforcement to host workplace violence training.

A plea for help after spike in violence against nurses and caretakers: letter to the editor

Employers must investigate workplace violence incidents, risks, or hazards as soon as practical; provide training and education to employees who may be exposed to workplace violence, hazards and risks; meet record keeping requirements; and prohibit acts of discrimination or retaliation against employees for reporting workplace violence incidents, threats, or concerns.
